Power of Aluminum

The Client

When the UK aluminium industry took the decision to stand-up and be counted in the global market, it formed the Power of Aluminium (POA) – an umbrella organisation comprising large-scale manufacturers and professional bodies to promote the sustained use of aluminium and aluminium extrusions – and turned to Wyatt International to get the message across to multiple audiences.

The Campaign

After creating the branding and identity for the Power of Aluminium and putting in place a targeted and effective media relations programme, the Wyatt team organised an inaugural full-scale awards event, to showcase aluminium as the metal of the future.

Bringing the Power of Aluminium Awards together, Wyatt secured sponsorship, sourced the venue, generated entries, co-ordinated the judging process, sourced the guest host and handled all aspects of print and production and event management.

The Results

Over 100 quality entries were received for this inaugural awards event.

The Awards event was attended by over 260 industry-leading guests from the aluminium, engineering, design, building & construction and transport & automotive industry along with Home Secretary Jacqui Smith MP and host, Wayne Hemingway.

With over 3% of the audience made-up of media - including Reuters and Dow Jones - and many more requesting information on the event the net is now sure to be cast even wider for The Power of Aluminium.
